The First Volume of One of Pulpdom’s Longest Epics Is Finally Collected

The Crime Master: The Complete Battles of Gordon Manning & The Griffin, Volume 1Altus Press is pleased to reprint—for the first time—J. Allan Dunn’s 31-installment series of clashes between detective Gordon Manning and master criminal The Griffin, from the pages of Flynn’s Detective Fiction Weekly in the 1930s. Dunn was one of the most interesting pulp writers of his day (more on which will be revealed in a biography by our friend John Locke in the future) and this series has never been reprinted. This first volume contains the first third of the series. And be on the lookout for the subsequent books: they’re coming shortly.
