Curtis Steele was a house name used for novels in the Operator #5 pulp series, not a single author identity. Frederick C. Davis wrote the first twenty adventures of Jimmy Christopher, the secret agent also known as Operator #5. Emile C. Tepperman then wrote nineteen lead novels under the Steele byline, followed by Wayne Rogers, who wrote the final published stories.
The series appeared in Popular Publications’ Operator #5 from 1934 to 1939. Its plots placed Christopher against conspiracies and invading powers, often through extended story arcs.
