Eugene Cunningham
Eugene Cunningham (1896–1957) was an American writer of Western, mystery and sea stories.
Born in Helena, Arkansas, he spent much of his life in El Paso, Texas. A specialist profile describes him as an especially productive Western writer, with more than 400 pulp stories published across his career. He began selling fiction in 1920 and was publishing steadily by the early 1920s. Much of Cunningham’s work appeared in short-story and novella form in magazines including Action Stories, Frontier Stories and Lariat Stories. His output diminished after 1938, though he continued to publish occasionally. He also wrote books and other popular fiction. His Western stories were known for energetic action and frequent violent confrontations.
