Jerry George Janes (1902–1989), credited as J. George Janes, was an American illustrator. Born in the Bronx, he worked in commercial art and became a prolific contributor to pulp magazines. His assignments included covers and illustrations for detective, western, and adventure titles, among them Secret Agent X, Ten Detective Aces, The Spider, and Ranch Romances.
Janes also worked outside the pulp market, including sports-car illustration and courtroom sketching. His long career demonstrates the range of work available to a professional illustrator across magazine publishing and commercial assignments.
