Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life

April 25, 2013, BOSTON, MA—Altus Press and Meteor House Press are honored to announce they have come to terms with the Estate of Philip José Farmer to bring Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life back to print for the first time in 30 years.

Originally published in 1973, Philip José Farmer’s biography of The Man of Bronze was a trendsetter, and its influence is still felt to this day. This ultimate edition includes an all-new foreword by Farmer scholar Win Scott Eckert, along with rare images—many never before seen—as well as an exhaustive index for easy reference.

The deluxe, signed hardcover—which will be sold via Meteor House Press—features additional essays by Farmer and pulp experts such as John Allen Small, Keith Howell, Rick Lai, Art Sippo, Christopher Paul Carey, and current Doc Savage writer Will Murray.

Altus Press will offer standard trade edition of the book, as well as e-books available in all the popular formats. These editions will be available soon after the release of the deluxe, signed hardcover edition.

All editions of Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life will feature an all-new cover by Wild Adventures of Doc Savage series painter Joe DeVito.
