Cecil Calvert Beall (1892–1970), who signed some pulp covers C. Calvert, was an American commercial illustrator and portrait painter.

He studied at the Art Students League in New York and began selling paintings as a teenager. From 1922 he worked with the Picard advertising agency, illustrating campaigns for brands including Maxwell House and Firestone, while also freelancing for such magazines as Collier’s, McClure’s and The Saturday Evening Post. During the Depression, Beall turned to pulp cover work, painting for Munsey titles including Argosy, All-Story Love and Detective Fiction Weekly. He later returned to mainstream magazine illustration and created government recruitment and war bond posters during World War II. As a war correspondent with the Army Air Forces, he made paintings of the Iwo Jima flag raising and the Japanese surrender aboard USS Missouri. Portraiture became a focus late in his career.
