John Ulrich Giesy (1877–1947) was an American physician and author who became an early contributor to the sword-and-planet tradition of science fiction. His medical profession preceded and accompanied his writing career. Giesy is best known for creating the Jason Croft stories, which combine adventure with travel to other worlds and helped establish conventions later associated with planetary romance.
